The canvas that is BEquinox is set. Make BEquinox BE whatever it will BE. BEring it LA and beyond. The Mantra to keep in your head as you pack and plan... BEquinox is just like Burning Man.

BEquinox is just a tiny Burning Man... there will be heat, cold, wind, fire... there will be portas... you know you were hoping for those... there will be no showers... you wanna bathe, ya better BEring it. You wanna eat\drink?... ya better BEring it. There is no vending except for Ice and wood (prices soon). Pack it in... pack it out. This is a leave no trace event.

The details:

• Where – Joshua Tree Lake Campground - 2601 Sunfair Rd Joshua Tree, CA 92252

• When – The Gates open on Thursday March 20th at noon. Participants need to be off the property by 2pm on Sunday March 23rd.

• Theme – Mythos

• Yes, there will be instances that early entry is necessary. As you go thru the process of signing up for volunteering, bringing art, building a theme camp, etc., you will receive instructions for early entry. Yep, you will need a pass to arrive early.

• Gate will be closed between 11:59pm(midnight) Thursday night till 8am Friday morning.

• Gate will be closed between 11:59pm(midnight) Friday night till 8am Saturday morning.

• Gate will close for the event at 8pm Saturday Night. Please plan your arrival accordingly.

• There are no ins\outs. Once you leave the event, you cannot return.

• The event has been capped at 1,200. This includes staff, volunteers and participants.

• The event effigy will burn at 9pmish Saturday night weather permitting. Effigy may also burn Friday night if there is the potential for weather problems.

• This is an all ages camping event.

• This is a pet free event. Please leave your dogs \ pets at home.

• There will be no tickets sold at the Gate.

• There are 28 RV sites available. These sites will be $75 each. These sites will go to Theme Camps first, based on interactivity. If you are interested in reserving an RV, please send an email to [email protected].

• There is NO staking in the RV site area. Yes, you can stake in the open camping area.

• There will be wood and ice for sale. No, we do not have the price yet, but will let you know soon.

• There is potable water onsite. Don't forget to bring containers.

• The JT Campground showers will be closed for the event. If you plan to bathe, please bring your supplies... just like Burning Man.

2nd Annual White Blissmas Charity Ball

in Partnership with Area 33/Playa Surfers, BurnLA, Cruz Coalition, Disorient, Illeven:Eleven Recordings, PLAYA 54, and Transmorphagon.

Lighting and FX by Zero Gravity Concepts

This is a BEquinox participation grant fund raiser. BEquinox is the overnight LA Burning Man regional event in March. Blissmas will raise funds for participants who want to bring their creativity to BEquinox. Theme Camps, Art Installations, Performers, DJs, Workshop leaders, Anything that is participatory can apply for a grant. The audience at Blissmas vote on the projects and LALA distributes $15,000 based on your percentage of votes. Each person who buys a ticket to Blissmas gets 10 votes.

BEQUINOX PARTICIPATION GRANT INFORMATION:

Are you hoping to BEring something to BEquinox in 2014?

Do you need money for that something? Art, Stage, Theme Camp, Music, Flowarts supplies, fire... anything....

Well, here is your chance to earn a piece of the BEquinox Grant fund of $15,000.

With the Annual White Blissmas Ball happening on Friday, December 13th, 2013, we want you to start applying for your Grant money for BEquinox now. What... you aren't sure if you are going to be attending BEquinox? Doesn't matter... we want you to go ahead and apply for a Grant, attend the Ball and present what you might bring to BEquinox. Any Grant money that you earn will be given to you immediately after BEquinox 2014.

By presenting your something at Blissmas, you will at least have the possibility of getting a piece of the Grants. If you don't present your something at Blissmas, you will not have the chance of getting any Grant money for BEquinox.

GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!!!

Read it all... fill it all out. Be sure to complete and submit a budget. Without a completed budget, your application will not be accepted. Budgets don't have to be crazy detailed, but we do want to know what you are planning to do with the Grant. This isn't your first time doing this... really, keep it simple. Transpo, material costs, rentals, etc. Do not list contingency costs, artists fees, labor as this grant is not intended to cover these types of expenses.

CURRENTLY ACCEPTED POSSIBLE GRANTEES:

Raw Bar - The Raw Bar juices fresh fruit and vegetables and adds a bit of this and that to form a delicious alternative to the usual unhealthy cocktail. Everyone is welcome to come and experience the RawBar. The RawBar goal is to gift their special liquid creation to the community and make it a special experience.

Mad Tea Party - The Mad Tea Party is about sharing and connecting people -- Gifting, Creating Community. Mark Lakeman of City Repair and the book, Two Cups of Tea, illuminate the fact that when you sit and drink tea with someone or a group of others, you get to know them in a really lovely, easy, natural way.

A Moveable Feast - A Moveable Feast is a pedal-powered traveling formal dinner. Pedalers can sit, pedal and dine while it travels thru the streets. During the day, tea and crumpets will be served. At night, those wearing their finest apparel will enjoy a fine evening meal.

The Outdoor Gallery - The Gallery is a series of plasma cut metal panels that the community will be able to display their art, etc. This project is all about giving everyone a beautiful background to display their art.

Indigo Volcano Art Car - Indigo Car has been to Burning Man for 10 years and attended BEquinox in 2013. The car transports participants throughout the events. At BEquinox 2013, the car paid some special attention to the kids in our community... Indigo Car is a wonderful way not only to express art, but to also have the ability to enhance participation in events.

BlinkingManCamp - The place to come and talk to Joe Friday. Highly interactive. The audience and participants have fun with the creative verbal play. People will walk away saying Wow!, that was awesome.

Brotherluvs ARt of Burning Man - 15 years of Burning Man experience - translated into digital large art prints that inspire and excite those who see the many different images - all with a Burning Man twist in each image.

Playa 54 - Disco Round Project - Playa 54 is hoping to create a "disco club" feel. Have people forget they are in the middle of the desert\forest, etc. When people are free to dance as a full expression of their self, joy is always the result. With our music, we spread joy!

Mars Rover Art Cart "Dustiny" - We made an art car this is a tribute to the Mars Rovers, complete with lots of blinky lights, science instruments, and awesomeness baked in. Mars Rover specializes in inspiring people to see science and art as one, not separate entities

Pulse - The "Pulse" is an illuminated cube made of one-way mirrors, which changes dimensions as participants manipulate a lever or knob to create a myriad of infinite worlds inside the cube. Ever stare into a tesseract, before?

Human Spirit - The Human Spirit is a large spinning metal sculpture driven by a morot and surrounded by fire effects. It represents the Spirit that connects all human beings.

Sex & EgoDeath - How to develop courage - This will be an interactive workshop geared to make participants feel better about themselves - helping people to reach self-realization - Promoting courage to radically express oneself - shedding shame about one's sexual orientation, kinks and fantasies - drawing awareness to hidden fears - analyzing: fear, shame, doubt, jealousy - explaining polyamory, trust and good intentions.

ManCave - ManCave is a chill space where ALL participants are welcome. We're planning our return in 2014 to BE Bigger and Better Bringing Back your "Mini Pool Hall"! It's complete with all of your favorite "aMENities"; Pizza-Parties, Popcorn, Projector for big screen movies. Play our Pool table tournament with Playful dice game. Swamp-cooled to Yurtfection.

Honey! Shrunk The Adults! - Imagine your favorite toys when you were a little kid, wouldn't they be 20 times more fun if they were life-sized!!! As if someone sprinkled you with Pixie Dust you are suddenly transported where one of your favorite toys is now a life sized monument like a Jungle Gym for your inner child. A Life Sized Pin Toy for all to play with.

Rainbow Henge - I want to create a 'stone' circle consisting of 7 megaliths with varying heights of between 6ft-10ft tall and the minimum width of a regular doorway. Each megalith will have its own color, red, yellow, pink, green, orange and purple, and blue. Considering having a sacrificial megalith in the center of the circle. I think the community will enjoy the visual impact, photographs, used for meditation.

Bell Temple - The community will enjoy a decorative place of relaxation and contemplation, to escape the heat of the day or to gather inside its lit up frame at night. To play with the sounds created by the different tones of bells with the drumsticks and tuning forks provided. It is for all ages and a great place to meet people and participate in making music together.

Mumbly Peg - Mumbly Peg uses a Roman Ballista to launch 3 meter tall totems into the air and stick them ground. The totems are wooden sculptures of carved figures and designs. The totems will be grouped randomly and stuck at whatever state they land in after being fired.

The Wilson Pancake Breakfast - Many years ago, I was walking down The Esplanade on the Sunday after the burn and came upon The Black Sabbath Pancake Breakfast. Now ..... much as I likes me some pancakes and some Ozzy, I could not stay long. So I thought to myself, what music is the antithesis of Black Sabbath .... and TWPPB was born. We will be serving up some somewhat well cooked pancakes at BEquinox.

Luminiferous Lounge

A 650sq foot blacklight chill space and lounge full of seating, art, and toys abutting the luminiferous wonder wagon, an interactive blacklight painting experience where participants are encouraged to paint on the interior of the wagon.

Infinity Boxes

The Infinity Boxes are explorations in human perception and social interaction that turn out to be... fun.

Disorient Stage

Disorient wants to bring (a slightly smaller version of) their 2013 playa structure to BEquinox 2014. It consists of half a kilometer of LED creating a multi-panels screen displaying beautiful patterns. Some of those patterns were create by internationally renowned artist Leo Villareal. The structure will also feature a sound system and a DJ booth. We will bring about 6 amazing DJs to make the crowd dance all night long.

Samy

Do you like to get jiggy with it? I DO TOO! In 2013 we built a projection mapped staged for LA Decom and we'd like to step things up a notch by creating super mad epic LED walls integrated with Kinect cameras to show silhouettes of live dancers in front of the cameras and sound-reactive video across 1000s of LEDs on portable LED walls.

Solar Scupltures

Solar Sculptures Sacred Geometry Journey is a magical structure made of 3 geometric domes within which will hang fiber optic light sculptures.

Sacred Spaces

Sacred Spaces Village is a diverse international inter-faith visionary community of artists, activists and mystics seeking to improve the collective intelligence of humanity. We provide grounded, heart-centered sacred spaces for individuals to heal, learn/teach, create art, and transform themselves and the world.

Midnight kitchen and Neon Sculptures

I like to feed people late at night. I would like to set up a late night kitchen and put up some of my neon art.

Art Car Bus Stop Stage

ACBS is bringing the oontz-oontz and the boom-boom this year as we work towards constructing our largest, loudest, prettiest, most bad-assest stage yet. Expect top shelf DJs, live musical performances (beyond EDM), jaw-dropping stage design, interactive artwork and of course good vibes and smiling faces.

Gypsy Junktion

I am bringing Gypsy Junktion back this year. We offer Turkish style Champagne Cocktails during daylight and mysterious spiced warming wine drinks in the evening. As well as tarot, and palm reading.

Raven Wind Harp

Inspired by ravens, restless winds, telephone lines and windmills, the Raven Wind Harp is a Prairie Futurist experimental musical instrument. Crafted from canvas, copper, wood and wires and uses no electricity to play. It makes sound by gathering winds to resonate piano strings and is amplified using Dobro-style resonator cones oscillating in acoustically tuned boxes. The entire Wind Harp is tuned and resonant, from the taught canvas to the metal frame.

People Party Playground

The Party Playground and Electric Buddha Bar would be honored to return to it's humble beginning where it's first tower was built and tested @ Bequinox last year for Conversation Camp.Peoples Party Playground

Capital Reckers \ Transmorphagon Stage

We will provide top quality Live Entertainment and DJ entertainment to Bequinox 2014. The community will dance & celebrate, and interact, as our intentional space design will welcome them in!

Bambino Quetzalino

A fusion of art and architecture, Bambino Quetzalino is a sanctuary space with kinetic sonic walls topped by a hallucinatory head of Quetzalcoatl.

Crisco Disco

Crisco Disco Mutant Vehicle is going to be making a triumphant return for all the folks to enjoy riding, dancing, laughing and singing aboard it's mobile platform dance floor and second story balcony look out at this years BEQuninox event.

Black Rock Ghostland Observatory

Our goal is to show participants the beauty of the universe that they live in and are a part of. The moment when someone views Saturn's rings or Jupiter's Great Red Spot is an intimate, amazing thing to watch. Most people react with incredulity, checking the scope for some kind of magic or trickery. What follows is the realization that what you read in science text books is real. Reality expands to encompass the Solar System.

Shipwreck Tiki Lounge

Its the return of the famous shipwreck tiki lounge, featuring authentic tiki décor, tiki drinks, tiki music, tiki snacks, and some animatronic parrots and monkeys one of these years. For this year, we're just trying to rebuild the tiki lounge that was lost in a fire right before Burning Man 2013.

Sugar Pixie Abundance Rainbow Kaleidoscope Love Evolution

We have seen the future, and the future revolves around Wings, Sugar, and Love. Wings, in that we all make our own faery wings, and new members of our group must make their own wings. Sugar, in that our pixie kitchen is equipped with all manner of colored and flavored sugars, spices, salts, and vitamins, that we each craft into custom gourmet pixie sticks that we gift to those in need of sweets (the ones with sugar and spice), or energy (the ones with B12 and niacin), or hydration (the ones with elecrolytes). Love, in that we love everyone so much that we do whatever it takes to share our message of Wings, Sugar, and Love with them.

Black Rock French Quarter

A small busted up shack, dark on the inside, with a whiskey bar, fresh shucked oysters, occasional live crawfish boil, and perpetual soundtrack of crickets chirping, frogs croaking, and other bayou noises. Maybe some live blues if some sufficiently grizzled characters step up. A place to hang out and experience food, drinks, music, and ambience unlike the rest of Burning Man and BEquinox.

Wheel of Misfortune

Wheel of Misfortune is an interactive installation that promotes an exchange between participants in our community. There are instances that spirits must be consumed as part of the activity. Areal Stage will be a place for aerialist to perform. We will provide the platform for them to perform.

Have a Ball

We are creating an adult ball pit! Full of color, undoubtedly bringing up memories, and arranging an opportunity to talk to a stranger. Take your turn down the slide, and fall into a pit of colorful balls, and follow the instructions you find. Possible instructions include: "Ask someone to teach you something new", "Pay it forward compliment!" (all night, must give a compliment and tell recipient to spread the love), etc.

Family Love Village

Family Love Village (FLV) is a community group based in Los Angeles, CA, that is becoming the foremost model and support for conscious families and caregivers. Our mission is to connect and support families and caregivers locally to learn and practice conscious parenting. Information, resources, and support allow families to develop a gently guided approach to communicating with their children, as well as the ability to make natural, holistic and eco-friendly decisions. Our ultimate vision is to birth a conscious movement by co-creating villages globally, helping to build a sustainable world now and for future generations.

Middle Eastern Girls

This project created by Middle Eastern's women to perform liberty for all. A large tent will set up with colorful fabric. Middle Eastern music, dance and food. Topless women and belly dancers perform. The whole program will be diverse and fun. The entire program will be filmed. The purpose of this work is to show woman's freedom over her own body.
