How Big is Burning Man
I get asked "How Big is Burning Man?" every year. And its really hard to explain. You can say its 7 square miles, but that really does not give you an idea of exactly how expansive it truly can be. So here is a great tool to help you understand.
Type in any zip code and see the BM map superimposed on the area. As you can see BM barely fits inside the Downtown Los Angeles Corridor.

We request all events be by burners for burners. First priority is given to participatory events that practice radical inclusivity (all ages).
Burning Man Tickets
~)'(~ Never Purchase a Ticket for More than Face Value ~)'(~
By now you all know that Burning Man tickets have sold out. Wide spread panic has spread over the globe as satirical papers write convincing articles about the impending doom of the Burning Man event itself.
Then you checked various online venues for tickets (ie. ebay, craigslist, ticketstub, ect.) only to find out that scalpers have gone mad, mad, mad. Well, dont forget YOU have the power not them. Hold firm, people. Stand your ground. NEVER pay more than face value + fees for any BM ticket EVER. Please pass this on. Spread the word. Remind people that you dont sell a BM ticket for more than face value. Force the greed to stop. We can do it if we band together.
Now you found a great deal online and you are ready to make your purchase. CAVEAT EMPTOR. Buyer Beware.
There are frauds out there. They are faking tickets. How can you tell if you have a real ticket? Read it straight from the BM website Click Here
There is yet another way to get a ticket home. LA Regional CORE project started a raffle several months ago for a BM ticket and lots of other shwag. These tickets are $5 each and support your regional project, SCARAB. Its a great cause, youre supporting art, AND you could win a BM ticket home.
To learn more about SCARAB Click Here.
To buy a Raffle Ticket Click Here.
The drawing will be on August 7th at the final screening of the BM Film Series at the Egyptian Theater. You do not need to be present to win, but it would be a whole lot more fun if you were. Imagine running down the isle with the winning ticket. It would be like winning an Oscar or the Lotto.
For BM Film Series information Click Here.
And I know there are several other art pieces doing similar raffles, so search around. Be creative. And please dont reinforce criminal behavior by purchasing a scalped ticket.

Road Trip to BM App
TRACK YOUR (AND OTHERS') WAY TO BRC WITH WAZE
Waze HAS set up A special driving group for Burning Man HQ and everyone headed to Black Rock City! Anyone with a smartphone can download Waze for free and watch people around the country converge on Black Rock City. You can see who else is going and ping them on the way for car pooling, planning stops, sharing information (like speed traps, for instance), or just chatting (passengers only please!).
This is a pretty cool way for everybody to connect with each other on their way to Burning Man!
How to get going:
1. Download waze by visiting www.waze.com/download
- http://m.waze.com/ from your phone – or searching for ‘waze’ in the Appstores (All smartphones)
2. Once you’ve registered, join the BRC group (from iPhone and iPad). To do this, click on ‘groups’ in the main menu, click on the magnifying glass icon and search for BRC, and join us!
3. You’ll be able to track other group members with the BRC logo next to their avatar, all across the country, as we advance towards the Playa. Along the way you’ll be able to send chit chats and road reports to other BRC driving group members and organize stops along the way.
